Introducing Views in Tracer and Scout

Say "goodbye" to beta mode, say "hello" to Views.

Views make getting to items of interest easier than ever. Default Views, such as “My Open Action Items” in Tracer and “Recently Created items” in Scout, are designed to support common workflows. Users can choose from a list of these default Views, create their own Views, and share Views with other users.

Easy to use

In Views mode, users simply need to choose the desired View from the dropdown menu to display the related items in the table. Users can then arrange table columns, sort items, edit item details, set alerts on groups of items, and output related reports. Users with appropriate security rights can also Bulk Edit and Archive groups of items.

More flexible

Many of the default Views are made possible using new dynamic filter types. The Relative Date filter allows users to define ranges of dates that dynamically update based on the current date. The Logged In User filter presents a list of Action Items to the current user where they are the Responsible Person. These filter types make it easier to create and share relevant Views across your organization.

Fast and powerful

Powered by a lightning-fast filtering engine, Views include filter criteria that encourages data exploration using Dakota's patented Parametric Filtering™. When a View is selected, interactive graphical dashboard provide an elegantly simple method for analyzing trends, evaluating hazards, and pinpointing operational risks. The left pane shows a graphical summary of the included fields with counts of how many items match the criteria.

In coming releases, more default Views will be introduced for the Scout applications and new features will be added to the Views workspace. Additionally, work is in progress on a new Home Screen that will drive into the Views workspace as well as direct linking to item details from alert and notification emails.
