Personal Protective Equipment & Decontamination Procedures

This 45 minute course reviews the nature of hazardous materials that employees may encounter in their work environments (a portion of the information needed to meet the 8-Hour Annual Retraining requirement under OSHA's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard.) Upon completion of this course, employees should:
- Understand the various levels of personal protective equipment, and when each level should be used.
- Know the different types of PPE in each level, and the features and capabilities of each type.
- Recognize the importance of respirator selection in keeping safe while working with different types of hazardous materials.
- Understand how heat stress can become a problem when working in chemical protective clothing.
- Understand how the decontamination process works.
- Know how a Contamination Reduction Corridor is set up and how it functions.
