Introduction to Industrial Hygiene

Industrial Hygiene is the science of protecting and enhancing the health and safety of people at work and in their communities. This 30-minute course discusses how Industrial Hygienist’s look at the work environment, identify problems that could affect workers’ safety and health, and find ways to eliminate or alleviate those problems. Upon completing the course, employees should:

• Understand what “industrial hygiene” is.
• Know what an Industrial Hygienist does.
• Understand how following industrial hygiene principles can help to make their workplace safer for them and their coworkers.
