Limited Extension of Select Compliance Dates to the Beryllium Standard in General Industry

Action Forcing Change Summary
OSHA is extending the compliance date for certain ancillary requirements of the general industry beryllium standard to December 12, 2018. The final rule extends the compliance date for beryllium work and regulated area provisions, personal protective clothing and equipment requirements, housekeeping requirements, communication of hazards provisions, and recordkeeping requirements. The final rule does not extend the compliance date for the following provisions: the PELs; exposure assessment; respiratory protection; medical surveillance; medical removal protection; or any provisions which the standard already established compliance dates in 2019 and 2020.
