Corporate Task Library: Managing compliance tasks across the enterprise

Everyone has a “to do” list or compliance calendar of tasks that need to be completed. When facilities are similar, we would expect those task lists to be similar. How can we make sure they are? The Corporate Task Library (CTL) is one of the tools available to Dakota Clients to facilitate managing compliance tasks across the enterprise.

What is a CTL? The CTL is best described as a consistent set, or “library,” of tasks. These tasks are driven by Federal Regulations, Industry Standards, Corporate Policies or other requirements that apply to multiple locations within the enterprise. Used in conjunction with a site Profile, the tasks are deployed only to those locations to which they are applicable.

Why use the library? Rather than manually creating the same task for multiple locations, a single CTL task can be delivered to multiple locations. By using the CTL, an organization can deploy a group of consistent tasks to ALL applicable locations at the same time. Additionally, if there are any changes to the requirements of a task, revisions are simply made to a single task in the library; the changes flow immediately to all the affected facilities.

Who should use a CTL? The CTL effectively ensures that each facility has the most current version of the task and is analogous to a “Document Control” methodology applied to tasks. This can be very beneficial to enterprises with a variety of regulatory requirements, a large number of locations, small staffs tasked with managing multiple locations and/or enterprise-wide corporate requirements.

As you move forward building your 2018 compliance calendar, think about whether your organization could benefit from the functionality of a Corporate Task Library. If you have questions about the CTL please contact us at info@dakotasoft.com.
