ProActivity Views & Dashboards Refresher

With the new year rolling in and some big things coming with Dakota's 11x release, we’d like to give everyone a quick refresher on a business intelligence tool that Dakota provides to all of our clients, Dashboard Views. These are quick and easy ways for end users to create dashboards that elegantly display the metrics they find valuable in measuring their performance.

DASHBOARD VIEWS & PODS

Dashboard Views are available to all users and are configurable by each user directly within the interface. Simply navigate to the product line you are looking to create a view within and hit the plus sign at the end of the Dakota standard views to start creating your own.

First, you’ll name your new view in the ‘Title’ section and choose a pod layout. Now you get the ability to choose who this view should be visible to. Here we provide you with the ability to create a view just for yourself or share your view across the organization by making it available to everyone. Once your new view is created, hit the drop down arrow on your view and select ‘Create Pod’.

From there you have many different options for how you would like to display your new data set. You can create anything from a text pod to a webpage, all of which will display directly within the interface.

These options offer you a multitude of ways to look at your data. From a ‘Grid’ pod displaying up to five different columns of data to an ‘Area Chart’ allowing you to see the disparities between values based on a line slope, each option gives you a different aspect of your data.

The end result is you have now created a view that directly relates to your key performance indicators in a simple yet powerful graphical representation that you can share with the entire company if you’d like.

Now that you have the insight into your data in Dakota, you can quickly export these new graphs and charts for presentations outside of the system as well through one click snapshots from the dropdown arrow on the upper left corner of each graph.

Each customer also has additional graphical capabilities through a custom dashboard created by Dakota's implementation team. Outside of the 8 standard options, you can now choose from 70+ custom dashboard options for any of those complex analytics you are looking to gain some insight into. Now that you know how to create and share your new dashboards, we’d like to mention the upcoming release of the ProActivity Home Screen on 11x. All of the views you’ve created or shared throughout your organization can be ‘Favorited’ to your personal Home Screen for quick and easy viewing as soon as you login.
