Answers
How can I view detailed technical information about my Tracer installation?
You can view information about the status and settings of your Tracer system on the Tracer System Information page. To access this page, add /systeminfo.asp to your Tracer URL address.
For example, if your Tracer URL is www.mycompany.com/tracer, the URL for the System Information page is www.mycompany.com/tracer/systeminfo.asp The Tracer System Information page shows:
- License Information — status information about your Tracer license
- Login Information — identifying information about the current Tracer session and the logged in user
- Server Information — identifying information about the Tracer Server machine
- DataBase Information — version numbers, connection strings, and settings for the Tracer database
- Client Information — details about the settings of your internet browser
My mouse cursor disappears. What should I do?
Occasionally the mouse cursor is hidden while new information is loaded in the Dakota Tracer workspace. Look in the lower-left corner of the browser window. This status bar describes any Dakota Tracer activity, such as "Loading Actions" or "Loading Organization tree." When all of the information is loaded into your browser window, the status bar says "Done," and the mouse cursor reappears.

How do I export Dakota Tracer information to Dakota Auditor?
You can export Dakota Audit Session files (*.aud) from Dakota Tracer. Initially, these files contain all of the Dakota Tracer information associated with this audit. For example, any Journal entries or Status data are stored in the *.aud file when you first create it in Tracer. You can view these specially-created *.aud files with Dakota Auditor to see the context of the surrounding questions and other audit information. You can also use these files as a transportation mechanism for moving or sharing Dakota Tracer audit information.
To export a Dakota Audit Session from Dakota Tracer:
- In the Organization hierarchy, select a Dakota Auditor file.
- From the main toolbar, choose Tools. The Tools menu opens.
- On the Tools menu, click Export Audit Session File. An Audit File Output window confirms that the file was created successfully.
- To save your file locally, click the file-name link on the Audit File Output window. The File Download dialog box opens.
- In the File Download dialog box, select Save this file to disk and click OK.
- In the Save As dialog box, specify a location for the new Dakota Audit Session file.
- When finished, close the Audit File Output window and return to the Dakota Tracer workspace.
When you use Dakota Auditor to view an audit session exported from Dakota Tracer, all of the Tracer-specific information is hidden. For example, you can’t see any Journal entries in Dakota Auditor. If you then save (or autosave) the file in Dakota Auditor, all of your Tracer-specific information is deleted from the exported file. For best results, do not re-import an exported Tracer file after opening it in Dakota Auditor.
