Metrics Streamlines Data for Corporate Responsibility Reporting

PPG is global supplier of paints, chemicals, and specialty materials. In 2000, they began collecting data on their energy consumption and Greenhouse Gas Emissions with the intention of implementing a global sustainability policy.

With 150 facilities in 40 countries, they found their rigid systems made analysis difficult and they continually struggled to capture accurate data due to resistant users and varying input methods and schedules.

A longtime EHS compliance customer, in December of 2010 PPG approached Dakota about streamlining their sustainability efforts. By February of 2011, Dakota was able to capture all key data points and build dashboard reports that allowed for multiple levels of analysis.

The ease of use of the software, combined with data input tracking and alerts, has resulted in a wide acceptance and use and has helped PPG get back on track with their aggressive corporate sustainability goals.
