EPA Amends Testing Procedures Approved for Pollutant Analysis and Sampling Under the CWA

Action Forcing Change Summary
EPA is modifying the testing procedures approved for pollutant analysis and sampling under the CWA. The changes include new and revised EPA methods (including new and/or revised methods published by voluntary consensus standard bodies); updated versions of currently approved methods; approval of methods reviewed under the alternate test procedures (ATP) program; and clarification of the procedures for EPA approval of nationwide and limited use ATPs. Further, EPA is also amending the procedure for the determination of the method detection limit to address laboratory contamination and to better account for intra-laboratory variability.
