Be prepared with Dakota Regulatory Alerts

The morphing shape of regulatory reform under the Trump administration is in everyone’s sights. Speculation abounds as executive orders are signed and budgets are discussed. Even the most prophetic crystal balls remain cloudy. Yet while the regulatory future in the United States is uncertain, luckily the ability to keep abreast of new, modified, delayed, and withdrawn regulations is assured.

The Dakota Regulatory Alert Service provides Dakota Software customers with email alerts (at the frequency of their choosing) notifying them of any Federal Register, California, or Texas action that may impact their Proactivity profile(s). Our Regulatory Services Group reviews the Federal Register on a daily basis to identify actions that affect content covered in Dakota’s Regulatory Database. Alerts, both timely and concise, inform customers of newly proposed and finalized regulations, as well as proposed and finalized amendments to existing regulations.

An example of the value of the Dakota Regulatory Alert Service is illustrated with the evolving Risk Management Program (RMP) rule. Significant revisions to the RMP (which provides regulation and guidance for chemical accident prevention at facilities that use certain hazardous substances) were proposed on March 14, 2016 and users of the Dakota Regulatory Alert Service received an email detailing these proposed revisions and their possible impacts. Alerts were then sent to users on January 13, 2017, the day the revisions were finalized. And on January 26, 2017 when the Federal Register announced the delay of the revisions’ effective date, users were again immediately informed (as they were on March 16, 2017, and again on April 3, 2017, when further delays were issued).

So while it is anyone’s guess what the future will bring (and how many more times the RMP revisions may be delayed), Dakota Regulatory Alert users never need to guess the current regulations nor how they affect them.
