EPA Finalizes Requirements for Monitoring Unregulated Contaminants in Drinking Water

Action Forcing Change Summary
EPA is finalizing the Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule 4 (UCMR 4) under which certain community and non-transient, non-community water systems are required to monitor for a total of 30 chemical contaminants, 29 that are not yet subject to SWDA standards and one group of regulated contaminants. The 5-year UCMR 4 program will take place from January 2017 through December 2021, with sample collection occurring between January 1,2018 and December 31, 2020.
