Action Forcing Change
Summary: FMCSA is adopting new requirements that prohibit motor carriers, shippers, receivers, or transportation intermediaries from coercing drivers to operate commercial motor vehicles (CMV) in violation of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. The final rule includes procedures for drivers to report incidents of coercion, rules of practice for the Agency to follow in response to allegations of coercion, and penalties that may be imposed where coercion is found.
